Crafting British Excellence: National Weaving's Legacy of Authenticity and Sustainability
Woven Labels made in our Welsh factory using recycled polyester.

National Weaving, a family-operated British manufacturer specialising in premium woven and printed labels, boasts over three decades of expertise. The company's ethos revolves around authenticity, sustainability and social responsibility within the industry, with all products meticulously crafted in their Welsh factory since 1987.
“When our company started, we focused solely on producing woven name tapes. Gradually, this expanded to include a range of diverse uniform labels. This expansion enabled us to utilise a variety of machines to explore new products and markets, like woven craft and hobby labels, as well as custom labels for brands. We have successfully scaled up our production to meet the demands of various product lines, while also exploring opportunities for producing additional items using the existing machinery. Throughout this growth, our priority remains on meeting our customers' needs effectively.” Stated Jake, Company director.
Setting themselves apart as a bona fide UK manufacturer, National Weaving is dedicated to genuine British craftsmanship.
At National Weaving, pride is taken in their superior products: "We produce all our labels in-house in Wales and take pride in our high-quality standards, honed over years of experience. From our inaugural woven labels in 1987 to our current range of woven, printed, and laser engraved labels, each label is meticulously crafted to enhance our customers' brands."
With a modest workforce of 36, National Weaving epitomises a small business passionate about their labels, offering unwavering assistance throughout the labelling process.
Having both their office and factory located in Pembrokeshire, Wales, enables National Weaving to accommodate lower minimum order quantities and provide the fastest turnaround time in the UK, all while upholding rigorous quality standards.
“On a personal level, I am fascinated by the manufacturing process. It's empowering to equip employees with a deeper understanding of what is feasible and what isn't, and to strive to make the impossible possible. Engaging the workforce in the production and delivery of our products and services is rewarding. It promotes collaboration and grants us complete control over the quality, pricing stability, and production timelines of our products. Managing production capacity during slow and peak periods presents intriguing challenges. Both our customers and we are moving towards sustainable practices, and having control over raw materials offers us various avenues to achieve this goal. For instance, while a company importing labels opts for air transport for speed, our yarn is transported efficiently in bulk on pallets via road or rail, resulting in approximately 21 times lower CO2 emissions compared to air transport” Jake, Company director
Catering to a diverse clientele, they offer quantities ranging from just 100 labels, understanding the varying needs of small luxury brands and startups.
" We understand the unique needs of small businesses and start-up designers, which is why we offer flexible order quantities tailored to their requirements," stated Caroline. "Our ability to deliver as few as 100 labels in just seven working days empowers designers to maintain brand consistency without the burden of excessive costs, supporting their journey to success."
Dedicated to sustainability, National Weaving strives to improve its social, economic, and environmental impact, urging fellow UKFT members to prioritise these values. By opting for British-made products, fashion brands can support local craftsmanship and contribute to a sustainable future.
Emphasising the pivotal role of labels in branding, National Weaving collaborates closely with customers to integrate their brand identity seamlessly into woven fabric, elevating designers and enhancing garments with stunning label designs.
"In the realm of fashion, every detail matters, and our labels serve as the ultimate expression of brand identity," emphasised Caroline. "We relish the opportunity to collaborate with our clients, seamlessly integrating their brand identity into our meticulously crafted labels, thereby adding a touch of sophistication to their creations."
If British quality, local production, and sustainability align with your business values, National Weaving is honoured to be your label provider of choice.
“Some UK manufacturers have opted to move some or all of their production abroad, but we are taking a different approach. We are enhancing our UK production capacity by adding looms to increase the variety of labels we can create. We are passionate about weaving in the UK, embracing its benefits and tackling its challenges. This commitment is integral to our goal of becoming the most sustainable and ethical company possible. Our focus is on efficiently producing and delivering labels to our customers while also prioritising sustainability. In 2023, we installed a significant number of solar panels at the factory. Our aim is to create a positive workplace environment; we are a living wage accredited employer and offer various health benefits, underscoring our dedication to employee well-being.”-Jake, company director.
