ReBorn: the sustainable innovation behind the homewares brand shaping the future
ReBorn's commitment to sustainability and innovation has made them a standout new brand in the homewares market in the past couple of years. Their journey showcases how businesses can make a positive impact on the environment while providing high-quality products.

ReBorn has an inspiring sourcing journey that focuses on sustainability and innovation. But where did it start and how did it get to the product now in store with some of the UKs favourite retail brands.

Founder's Vision: The founder, Brian Walmsley, was motivated by his personal and professional experiences to create a sustainable homewares brand. His background in the homewares industry and his observation of the environmental impact of traditional products led him to start ReBorn.

Market Gap: Brian recognized a gap in the market for sustainable homewares and saw an opportunity to create beautiful, functional, and planet-friendly products. This vision has driven ReBorn to become a pioneer in the industry.

Sustainable Materials: ReBorn is the world's first homewares brand made entirely from local waste. They use 100% recycled plastic from industrial waste, which significantly reduces carbon emissions compared to products made from virgin materials.  The industrial waste is collected in partnership with Biffa, a leading sustainable waste management company. This approach eliminates the need for virgin materials and minimizes landfill waste.

Local Production: All ReBorn products are made in their Wiltshire factory in the UK. This approach eliminates air miles and long-distance transportation, further reducing their carbon footprint.  The consideration for UK made was also taken into account for packaging that is also made locally.  This also supports the local economy by creating jobs and investing in local capabilities.

Circular Design: ReBorn products are designed to be recycled at the end of their life, promoting a circular economy - reusable, repairable, and recyclable. They avoid co-moulding two materials together, which makes recycling difficult. Instead, they use single materials that can be easily repaired with spare parts or recycled at household recycling centers.  Again they are reducing landfill waste and supporting the local economy.

Despite their focus on sustainability, ReBorn products are designed to be stylish and functional, catering to everyday needs like cooking, cleaning, and storage. This ensures that consumers can enjoy high-quality products while contributing to a greener planet.

ReBorn’s circularity is a cornerstone of their sustainability mission.

Collaborative Efforts: ReBorn collaborates with various partners, including Brunel University, Innovate UK, and social enterprises, to ensure their products are sustainable and circular. These partnerships help them stay innovative and committed to their mission.

ReBorn's commitment to circularity not only helps the environment but also sets a new standard for the homewares industry. Their innovative approach demonstrates that sustainability and style can go hand in hand.
