    Within New Wave there is a huge focus on pushing ourselves to be more sustainable. We now offer over 50% of our fabrics with a sustainable alternative which we are encouraging brands to look towards.
    Sustainability initiatives
    Most of our fabrics now have an alternative recycled option. We have also cut back on our bulk stock orders. Only ordering what we are selling therefore leaving much smaller amounts of excess.
    Pledges for the year
    We hope to push as many brands as we can to use our recycled/sustainable fabrics rather than our normal fabrics. Slowly we are trying to get rid of our stocks of non recycled and only stock recycled fabric.

    IT IS AN IMPERATIVE PART OF OUR OPERATION

    Since our beginnings we have followed and practiced the principles of fair trade However, we wanted to give a step forward by certifying our business practices. Therefore, we started working in obtaining such certification, in February 2020 we passed the corresponding audits and by the end of April 2020, PromPeru confirmed that we achieved the Peru Fair Trade Certification for Business Practices. This has been renewed in May 2022 for another 2-year period. We guarantee that our collaborators work in healthy and safe environments, and implements for their well-being, as well as train them to incorporate principles related to safety and health in their daily work. We offer them all the labour benefits established by law. We verify that there are no abusive practices with suppliers, which they are complied with in their payments. Similarly, we seek to have long-term business relationships with them.

    CLASSIC ALPACA SAC contributes to sustainable economic development, the improvement of the quality of life of its workers, suppliers, as well as the local community and of society in general. We adhere to the 10 principles of fair trade-WFTO and the commitment of social responsibility. We are an exporting textile company, dedicated to the production and commercialization of the highest quality products made of alpaca fiber. We abide by the following principles: • We respect the principles established in the Human Rights Charter. We act according to our internal regulations in case of faults and according to the case, we report them to the competent authorities and we do not become accomplices in their violation. • Accountability: we take responsibility for the impacts that our actions and decisions can generate in our interest groups and in our own company. • Transparency: We provide our stakeholders with reliable information and verifiable about our activities. • (*Information considered confidential will be kept confidential for the company.) • Ethical behavior: We have values that govern our behavior in front of our interest groups.

    - Training on first aid and accident prevention. - The safety of our collaborators and suppliers is very important, which is why Classic Alpaca is constantly trained in the use and management of fire extinguishers. - At Classic Alpaca we know how important soft skills are for a good development of the capacities of our collaborators, which is why in our action plan in 2022 we have done many workshops such as leadership, communication, teamwork and conflict management. - In Classic Alpaca the 10 principles of the World Fair Trade Organization, are present in our day it because our staff is very well trained and puts into practice each of these principles. - We constantly raise awareness among all workers and suppliers in the care of the environment with various activities. - At Classic Alpaca we have been committed since 2017 to the principles of fair trade, that is why we have participated in various fair-trade events to learn more about our peers in Peru and to be able to inform us more about fair-trade. - For Classic Alpaca it is of great importance to collaborate with the most disadvantaged, for this reason since 2021 we have developed various activities to favor of several disadvantaged communities in Huancayo, one of them is a Christmas chocolate event for the children of Palian. - Transparency and decision-making are shared by all Classic Alpaca collaborators, which is why they all participate in the annual management reports.

    - In Classic Alpaca there is no restriction on published job offers, within the company there are workers of both genders, there are positions or positions with responsibilities that are attributed to women. The training program is for all collaborators without any distinction. - In the supplier selection criteria there is no evaluation item that leads to discrimination of their types. - Freedom of association: We hold meetings to solve problems between workers, or with the administration. In the event that a worker requests a meeting, the necessary conditions are provided, such as facilitating the time and place to hold said meeting. - Good working conditions: Inspections have been carried out and an OSH hazard identification and risk assessment matrix has been prepared for each job position, we carry out training on safety and health at work and we maintain a record of investigation of accidents and incidents . - Capacity development: During the year different trainings, talks and workshops have been carried out in order to increase knowledge and improve the skills of collaborators and suppliers.
